Art Saves Lives. When you're struggling or trying to sustain sobriety, it's more than just stopping drinking or using. When we stop, we are faced with processing a myriad of things, learning coping skills, rebuilding our brains, finding new meaning and learning to live in a new life of sorts. There's often trauma, grief, anxiety, sadness, and research shows that the power of group and individual support is foundational to success in long term sobriety and leading fulfilling lives. Research also shows that using therapeutic expressive arts allows us to express and discover deeper things as well as process things that contribute to our success and our struggles.
Not a 12 Step Group, but an affirming, empowering, mindfulness based therapeutic expressive arts recovery group for women . The creative arts work to establish expression, imagination, active participation and a connection between mind and body. All four of these components contribute to the development of emotional intelligence and allow participants to find healthy activities to engage in that replace time previously used for drug and alcohol abuse, coping mechanisms, understanding of the self and connection to Source.
Session are designed for women or those identifying as women only at this time as the curriculum is specific to the emotional needs of women.
Sessions start this fall.
